CUSTOMER: MARYHILL HOUSING ASSOCIATION – ELECTRICAL TESTING
Start Date: September 2022
End Date: April 2023
Project type: Air source heat pump installation
Between April 2022 and April 2023, M&F Group installed approximately 50 Air Source Heat Pumps in domestic properties on behalf of Maryhill Housing Association (MHA). Our electricians provided Electrical Installation Certificates (EICs) for each installation, along with the Guidance for Recipients. These were issued to MHA, with copies given to the tenants.
The contents of the EIC and guidance were explained to tenants to ensure they understood the importance of keeping the documents as proof of compliance with Wiring Regulations at the time of testing.
Each installation underwent a full regime of functional tests to confirm it met the system design. Once complete, we handed over the system to the tenant, ensuring they understood how to operate it effectively. Follow-up visits were carried out to confirm that tenants were comfortable using the systems and satisfied with their heating and hot water. We also offered ongoing support visits if required, to maintain confidence in system operation.
CUSTOMER: CITY BUILDING GLASGOW
Start Date: November 2024
End Date: May 2025
Project type: Controlled entry electrical repairs
M&F Group was engaged by City Building to assist with a backlog of Controlled Entry faults and repairs, which had grown unmanageable. We successfully cleared the backlog to zero in a short time frame.
Recognising that most systems were GDX and Entrotec, we proactively arranged and funded specialist training for all our engineers. We built strong relationships with both manufacturers, securing reliable supply chains and stocking key components—enabling us to complete most jobs on the first visit, typically within an hour.
Our engineers quickly became proficient in fault-finding and in programming entrance tokens across GDX, Entrotec, and Raytel systems, including all system variants. We also undertook larger repairs, including re-wiring, replacing entrance panels, door readers, main PCBs, full control systems, and integrated camera systems—ranging from single-door setups to multi-storey properties.
We've developed a strong knowledge base in controlled entry systems. All engineers carry detailed manuals and troubleshooting guides, and we would welcome the opportunity to apply this expertise in partnership with MEARS Group.

CUSTOMER: BOILER GENIE
Start Date: November 2023
End Date: May 2024
Project type: Solar PV
We were invited by ECO installation company Boiler Genie to tender for Solar PV installation works across Scotland. Following a successful pitch, we secured works delivered between November 2023 and May 2024.
M&F Group managed and carried out the installation of Solar PV systems, battery storage, electrical controls, and Ethernet communications in domestic properties. We supplied all required trades, including Electrical, Roofing, and Scaffolding.
Each project began with a detailed technical survey, including drone-assisted roof assessments, followed by individual property tenders. Upon acceptance, installations were completed to industry standards, meeting all client expectations.
All systems were commissioned and handed over in line with our MCS Quality Management System, with comprehensive Handover Packs provided (samples available on request). We also liaised with the relevant Distribution Network Operators to ensure full compliance with Engineering Recommendations G98, G99, and G100.
Clients received clear handover guidance and were supported in understanding and operating their systems. One year after installation, we requested total generation meter readings, which consistently exceeded the conservative yield estimates provided during system design—further reinforcing client confidence in long-term system performance.
Can't recommend M&F enough, have went above and beyond for me, carrying out electrical updates, boiler replacement, kitchen work, shower replacement and troubleshooting various issues. Always on time and never had to wait long to get work done, and work is completed to a high standard in a timely manner. Can't thank Robbie, Ian and the guys enough
